These  hand manipulated images are created by using an antique Polaroid SX-70 Land Camera.  An alternative method used is with an enlarger using my original transparencies (slides) projected and exposed onto the same Time Zero SX-70  film.  The chemical emulsion of this film is slow to set up, and while still soft, the emulsion is manipulated and pushed around to soften the image's lines and blend just as you would in painting.  This process removes some of the photograph's realism and gives it a painterly quality.  A variety of wood and metal tools are used in this process.  I call this technique Photo Impressionism.

The SX-70 photo is then enlarged to the appropriate sizes, which brings out the textural and painterly qualities.  The enlargements are printed on archival papers, using premium photographic papers or 100% acid free papers.  Each print is signed, numbered, and is a limited edition of 250 prints.  All prints are double matted in white acid free mats with a black inner edge called Black Core.  Only archival materials are used so that your artwork will last up to 100+ years.
