My background is in Art.  Most of my life has been spent working in a variety of art media, from painting, printmaking, and pottery, to photography.  I completed a BFA and MA, both in art, and have taught art classes at all levels, both private classes and public school.

My interest in photography has been a lifelong interest, beginning with my little Kodak Brownie box camera that had a small lever to push down to snap the picture.  For a 10 year old, it was a fun and pleasant past time taking pictures of family fun outings, and the like.  It was only until my later adult years that I began to take a really serious interest in photography.  Several alternative photographic techniques absolutely fascinated me and offered many more ways to be more creative.  I had taken every photography class available at our local University, and I loved the darkroom.  But with so many "alternative" techniques to explore, I followed that direction.

I still use a variety of films using a Canon EOS 7e 35-mm camera.  As it has begun to be difficult finding sources to process transparencies, it has become more convenient to "go digital".  with a Canon EOS 30D camera and then have slides made from my digital files.  A time consuming additional step.  The transparencies are then used in several different photographic techniques.  For the SX-70 techniques, the antique SX-70 Polaroid Land Camera using Time Zero film is also used.
